Nicknamed
"The Valley Isle", Maui is comprised of the volcanic areas of
Haleakala, the West Maui Mountains, and the fertile valley
that connects them. Maui is the second largest island in size
in the Hawaiian Islands, but third most populated, behind Oahu
and Hawaii (the Big Island").
The area
known as "South Maui" is the coastal area situated on
the western slope of Haleakala volcano. This area is blessed
with a dry sunny climate and spectacular golden sand beaches.
Beaches here range from those with gentle waves perfect for
children and snorkeling, to some of the best boogie boarding
beaches on the island.
South Maui is
comprised of three coastal communities:
Kihei,
Wailea
and
Makena, north to
south. All three have beautiful beaches, plentiful
accommodations, and great restaurants and shopping nearby.
Please explore our information on all three areas to determine
which Maui vacation rental is right for your Hawaii vacation.
